Fowey Memory Café guests and volunteers recently had a lovely post-Christmas lunch out at the Fowey Valley Hotel in Lostwithiel. The event was well attended, the meal was superb and we were all made most welcome by the staff. We will have met twice in February. Our session on 14th February saw everyone singing and toe tapping along to some favourite songs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. We will be doing some Armchair Dancing on the 28th February.
The Café is held on alternate Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm at Squires Field Community Centre, Park Road, Fowey, PL23 1EF. We aim to provide a friendly and supportive environment where guests can spend time together. It is FREE to attend and tea, coffee and homemade cakes (thanks once again to Sue and other committee members) are provided, along with a helping of FUN! The activities are designed to exercise the brain and improve abilities for anyone who feels that their memory could do with some help. There is also the opportunity for family members/ carers to learn more about memory loss and access advice and information. New guests and carers are always welcomed. Just give us a ring for more information.
