It was very sad that it was necessary to suspend our Sunshine Cafe ☀️meetings at the Mullion Chapel and we are really hoping things will get back to normal before too long.

Here is how we started 2020 at Sunshine Cafe ☀️

January February & March 2020 Enjoying ….

Emma go Happy – a laugher workshop which was great fun and we all laughed very loudly 😄😀😄

Music for Health with Rachel- one of our regulars who entertains us 🎶🎵🎼😄

For all our sessions we enjoy home baked cakes made by Mary C/ B yum yum xx

Here we are with the Memory boxes provide by Helston Museum 👌🙏😀

Our last in-house session was early in March BUT by April we had a “New Normal“ taking our Sunshine Cafe ☀️out to our members and their carers

April May & June 2020 our volunteers took the Sunshine Cafe ☀️ To our members. Although unable to meet and enjoy the company and companionship of all our friends, our volunteers have been regularly keeping in touch by phone 📞 as well as visiting from a social distance with treats.

We have had 🍫chocolate kindly donated initially by Trenance Chocolate …we now purchase it at a good discount 🍫 & Mullion Health Centre print our Sparkle magazine for us to distribute 😄. which we now do each month.

Our volunteers have made various suggestions which you can see…plants and flowers 💐 a Virtual Cream Tea was our first effort kindly helped by Treleague our local dairy. We have enjoyed strawberries biscuits and clotted cream -but just knowing our members and their carers are not forgotten has made a positive impact for all.

One of our technology minded volunteers produced a C D for all to enjoy- as music is always a big part of our usual bimonthly sessions 🎼🎵🎶

We also have several things planned for the coming months, including some bulbs for planting and craft activities.  Our next session is…….

Apple pie and custard -another great suggestion from one of our volunteers.

We all keep in touch via Zoom meetings to make sure our members & their carers are included, as well as making plans.

We realise that some of them will be feeling quite isolated by the Covid situation but will understand that safety of our members must be our priority.

Having said that, we are very much looking forward to the time when we can restart our regular Friday meeting and have some fun.

Watch this space 😄
